Artistic Biography

Central School Logo

I have grown up in South Berwick, Maine since I was 3 years old. I remember my art teachers the best: Mrs. Higgin's in elementary school. Mrs. Barter in middle school. Around 5th grade, the Central School offered me my first experience designing logos. They still use the letter head I designed back then.

Then there was Hal Kenyon, my drawing teacher outside of school. At Phillips Exeter Academy, I remember Mr. (I can see his face but forgot his name) and Mr. Dawson. There are too many art teachers to name at the University of New Mexico where I earned my Bachelor of Art in Fine Art. My favorites were Professor Martin Facey and John Rise. At the Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute where I put "the computer" into my criteria, my graphic design teacher was Mr. Bergsland. I earned an Associate Degree in Computer Technology where I have a handful of animation teachers to thank as well. Presently Professors Stone and Vogt at the York County Community College keep me updated in the worlds of web design and networking, respectively.

Art, whether computer graphics or fine art, requires constant practice and educational upkeep. And I love every bit of it. Presently my employment at The Weekly Sentinel keeps me practicing and classes outside of work keep me learning.
